We match the practice to the job
Elite does not put every project through the same studio. We work with a number of architectural and interior practices in the UK and Spain, and we choose the one that suits the job in front of you: its scope, its budget, the building it sits in, and what you want from it at the end. Repairing a stucco front is not the same commission as a new villa on a hillside plot, and the two do not suit the same designer.
That judgement is the service. You get a designer chosen for the work rather than the one we happen to employ, and you get us between you and them for the whole of it. If you already have an architect you want to keep, we work with them. We are not trying to unpick a relationship that works.
How the design is run
- We write the brief with you, put it to the practices we think fit, and sit in on the interviews.
- Design runs through the RIBA Plan of Work stages, with a drawing issue and a cost check at the end of each, so nobody discovers the budget at tender.
- Interiors are taken to construction level, not mood-board level: dimensioned joinery, tiling setting-out, lighting and switching, ironmongery.
- Structural, mechanical and electrical engineering comes in when the drawings need it, not after the layout is fixed.
- We deal with London planning and Building Control, and with the things that never appear on the first drawings — access, the riser, the party wall, where the skips stand.
What you end up with
A drawing set that can be priced and built, a cost that has been tested at each stage instead of once at tender, and a sequence that puts the decisions in the order they have to be made. The contract manager who sat in the design meetings is the one on site when the work starts.
